About Recommendation Letters:
To the students who would like to ask for my strong recommendation (effective from 2019):
For those who will have my recommendation, you need to email your CV, transcripts, draft of recommendation, and any other supporting materials at least 3 weeks before the earliest deadline. You MUST fill in all the required information in the submission system (e.g., title, affiliation (institution and dept), address, phone, email). You should be able to find such information from the website of my lab or the department. Failing to do so might affect your recommendation.
If you do not think I can provide strong recommendation for you, it would be best for you to identify those who could (instead of me) to do so for you.
I will not be able to provide letters if you do not waive the right to access my recommendation.
- If you only took my courses and do not have further interaction with me, I will not be able to write recommendation letters for you.
- If you are my undergraduate/graduate research students, I will provide recommendation only if you complete and submit your work to major vision/learning/AI/image conferences or have it publicly archived.
- If you are graduate students or RAs in my lab, I will write letters for you since it’s my responsibility/obligation. However, there is no guarantee that the letters would be strong.
